Q1: WHAT IS A BLUE TURTLE?

A1: The blue turtle is our division mascot. Each Key Club division has one (example: D35E Elephants, D15 Giraffes, D10N Ninja Turtles).

Q2: WHAT ARE DCM'S?

A2: Division Council Meetings. They usually take place on the last Sunday of every month at Almansor Park (S Almansor St, Alhambra 91801).  There, you'll meet Key Clubbers from the 11 high schools in our division and get division updates. Also, food is provided.

Q3: WHAT IS THE POINT OF KEY CLUB?

A3: Key Club is made up of young leaders who share a common passion for service. We strive to better our community by volunteering and contribute to PTP and the Eliminate Project.

Q4: WHAT IS PTP/PROJECT ELIMINATE?

A4: The completion of the Pediatric Trauma Program and The Eliminate Project are the two main goals of Key Club. We continuously raise funds for both of these projects, and aim to achieve these goals as soon as possible.

Q5: WHAT IS AN LTG?

A5: A Lieutenant Governor is the liason between the clubs and the district. One is elected every Key Club term, and is inaugurated at DCON. Our LTG for the 2017-2018 term is Wilson Yeung.

Q6: WHAT IS DCON?

A6: District Convention is the biggest event of the Key Club year. It is where Key Clubbers from all over the district come together and celebrate their year of sevice, inaugurate new cabinets for the next term, and learn how to become better at what they do at workshops. DCON 2018 will be held at Reno, Nevada.

Q7: WHAT IS FALL RALLY?

A7: The Southern California Fall Rally is arguably one of the most life-altering experiences a Key Clubber can have. It is a motivator to raise money for PTP, and a time for Key Clubbers from the entire southern area of the District to come together and celebrate their hard work and express their love for volunteering. The spirit from the Key Clubbers is overwhelming and contagious. Many new Key Clubbers recall Fall Rally as the first time they fell in love with service. Due to the District's massive size, two Fall Rallies are held each year; one in Northern California at Six Flags Discovery Kingdom, one in Southern California at Six Flags Magic Mountain. Thousands of members gather at each of the two theme parks on their selected day, one in October, one in November. At Fall Rally North and South, LTGs and Executive officers are "auctioned" off to Divisions; the winning Division is able to then spend a designated period of time with the "purchased" officer. Auction funds and a portion of the ticket sales for both events go towards the Pediatric Trauma Program

Q8: WHAT ARE MONTHLY NEWSLETTERS?

A8: Monthly Newsletters are exactly what they sound like. Each month, the technology editor compiles articles submitted by the clubs in the division, reporting events and updates from the 20th of the previous month to the 19th of the current month. For example, the August 2013 issue would have articles from July 20th-August 19th.
